Creating healthier smiles through co-discovery
Our oral wellness philosophy centres on understanding your unique needs and giving you the tools to protect your health between visits. Every hygiene appointment begins with a comprehensive gum evaluation using advanced technology such as intraoral cameras, scanning imagery and microscopy — so you can see exactly what’s going on in your mouth. Whether we’re disclosing biofilm, identifying early signs of inflammation or supporting you post-treatment, we work closely with you to set realistic goals and make improvements together.

We offer a wide range of hygiene treatments, from above-the-gum Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal (PMPR) to deep subgingival cleaning for active gum disease. For patients ready to make long-term changes, our Mastering Oral Hygiene and Complete Oral Health Journey pathways provide a structured, supported route to better oral and systemic health. Every visit is a chance to refresh your smile, build confidence, and take control of your wellbeing.
What is a gum evaluation and do I need one before hygiene treatment?
Yes. A gum evaluation is a detailed assessment that helps us understand the health of your gums before starting any hygiene care. It ensures your treatment is tailored to your specific needs and gives us a baseline to track your progress.
What’s included in a hygiene appointment?
All hygiene visits include guided biofilm removal using air polishing, provided there are no medical contraindications. We remove plaque and tartar, highlight areas to improve at home, and offer practical, personalised advice.
Can I see the hygienist without seeing the dentist first?
Yes. We offer Direct Access appointments, meaning you can book hygiene treatment without a prior dental check-up — ideal if you're focused on gum health or want a professional clean.
What is Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal (PMPR)?
PMPR is the clinical term for removing plaque and tartar from your teeth. We offer both supragingival (above the gums) and subgingival (below the gums) PMPR, depending on the health of your gums and the presence of gum disease.
How can oral hygiene affect my overall health?
Poor gum health has been linked to systemic conditions like heart disease and diabetes. By improving the balance of bacteria in your mouth, you’re supporting your body as a whole — not just your smile.

Comprehensive Gum Evaluation with our Dental Hygienist
£45.00

This is ideal for new patients starting their journey with us and those who wish to improve their gum health and see a dental hygienist through Direct Access.
Experience a thorough gum evaluation with Claire, our dental hygienist. Utilising an intra-oral camera, scanning imagery, and microscopy, she reveals the hidden world of bacterial activity in your mouth. Seeing is believing! Understanding gum disease is crucial for prevention. That’s why all patients concerned about their gum health receive a detailed assessment and report. Treatment largely depends on the severity of the disease at the time of assessment, which is why the Gum Evaluation is essential before any dental hygiene treatment commences.
Supragingival (above the gums) Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal (PMPR)
£88.00
This initial phase of treatment is appropriate for patients with a build-up of deposits who may experience bleeding gums and wish to manage or reduce gingival inflammation.
Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal (PMPR) is essential to effectively remove plaque, a sticky film that can accumulate on teeth, and calculus (tartar). In this process, we aim to gently eliminate visible deposits above the gum line and any detectable subgingival deposits on the tooth's crown. Our ultimate goal is to foster an environment that supports our patients in improving their oral hygiene. The number of appointments required may vary based on the specific deposits observed, and this will be assessed following a comprehensive gum evaluation.
Further information on Gum Health and Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal can be found on the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry (BSP) website.
Oral Health Maintenance
£75.00 per appointment
Perfect for patients committed to sustaining a vibrant and healthy smile.
Our Oral Health Maintenance appointments empower patients with healthy gums or those who have overcome gingivitis (inflamed gums) to sustain their oral well-being through regular dental hygiene visits. While attending twice a year is typical for those without gum disease, you can embrace more frequent appointments for that invigorating fresh feeling whenever you desire.
Subgingival (below the gums) Professional Mechanical Plaque Removal (PMPR)
£120.00 per appointment
A more tactile and deeper treatment approach is required for patients with gum disease who exhibit signs of loss in the supporting structures that hold teeth in place.
Subgingival PMPR is a comprehensive term that replaces the concepts of root surface debridement and root planing. This treatment is designed to perform subgingival instrumentation on the root surfaces of teeth. The primary goal is to effectively remove plaque, biofilm, endotoxins, and calculus from the root surface. It is essential to acknowledge that some patients may experience mild discomfort during and after the procedure, potentially due to pulpal sensitivity or tissue trauma. Local anaesthesia may be recommended during these appointments to ensure a more comfortable experience.

***Should local anaesthesia be suggested or required, the cost of this is inclusive for all subgingival PMPR***
